Effective May 5, 2016 Durkin & Villalta Partners Engineering, Inc. and J.W. Sims & Associates Engineering Co., Inc. merged operations and are dba Sims-Durkin Associates Engineering Company. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Company now has engineering offices in Indianapolis, Indiana, Evansville, Indiana, and Raleigh, North Carolina. The combined company provides complementary MEP engineering resources for additional project engineering capacity, regional expansion, and expanded service offerings.

Sims-Durkin Associates Engineering Company comprises of a general engineering private practice established in 1987, with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing engineering for all types of buildings and facilities.  Services include preparation of design documents for bidding and construction, engineering studies, cost estimates, and construction administration services.

Project experience includes a wide variety of project types, sizes, and complexities, and include upgrade, remodel and new construction.  Approximately 90% of project assignments are for electrical engineering services, and approximately 60% of assignments involve renovation or expansion of existing facilities.

Clients include private and public industrial, commercial, institutional, utility, healthcare, and educational organizations, and construction contractors, architects, and other engineering firms. For multidiscipline and large projects, the company may joint venture or subcontract with other firms. The company regularly subcontracts to several associate firms, assembling project teams best suited for each job and to supplement production capability.

General liability, professional liability, and worker injury compensation insurance is maintained. The company is organized as an S Corporation in the State of Indiana. Professional engineers are licensed in the states of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Nebraska and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Project documents are prepared using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products.
